The 2010 Bio-Entrepreneur School will equip and support entrepreneurial people start and grow a business in the lifescience, medical, bioscience and biotechnology sector.
The School will lay foundations for an entrepreneurial career in this fast growing sector by taking you through an intense three-day programme delivered by seasoned entrepreneurs and business consultants.
The 2010 School, built on the success of our 2007, 2008 and 2009 Bio-Entrepreneur Schools will be hosted by the prestigious BioCity in the heart of Nottingham in partnership with QED Consulting.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The School is open to anyone wanting to develop an entrepreneurial career in the commercialisation of bioscience. It is especially suited to:
- Recent graduates or post-docs
- Academic researchers
- People working in industry, including large pharmaceutical companies
- People working in a small business
who:
- Are planning to commercialise a particular science or idea
- Have just started a business in the sector
- Want to learn how to view science from a commercial angle
The School supports your goals by taking you through an intense three-day programme, developing the business skills and confidence that will help you reach your potential in this rapidly expanding sector.

WHEN AND WHERE?
The School will run from the 10th to 12th March 2010 and will be held at the prestigious BioCity Nottingham. Accommodation is available at nearby hotels and we have negotiated special rates at Jury’s Inn Hotel for those selected to participate.
HOW DO I GET ON THE SCHOOL, AND WITH IS THE COST?
There are 3 ways at get onto the Bio-Entrepreneur School
1. Fully Funded Places (through competitive entry):
- Applications welcomed from current students and researchers
- The best 20 applications received by 11th December 2009 will be awarded places
- Free to delegates: places are fully funded through Bio-Entrepreneur School sponsorship

2. Priority Applications (partially funded):
- 10 priority applications that meet minimum quality standards will be awarded places (on a first come first served basis)
- Applications welcomed from researchers, university staff and small businesses
- Cost per delegate is £350 + VAT for 3 day school (places are subsidised through Bio-Entrepreneur School sponsorship)
- Priority applications bypass competitive entry requirements for fully funded places.

3. Corporate Applications
- Cost per delegate is £650 + VAT for 3 day school
- Suitable for entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs working for pharmaceutical and other corporate organisations.
